Simon Covert

Maryland Department of Labor, Indiana University-Bloomington Alum

Simon Covert earned a B.S. in Cybersecurity and Global Policy from Indiana University Bloomington. He is a cybersecurity professional and CyberCorps Scholarship for Service recipient with hands-on experience across public sector, higher education, and financial industry environments, including internships with OmniSOC (REN-ISAC), the City of Bloomington Information & Technology Services, and Stifel Financial Corp. In these roles, he conducted SOC monitoring and investigations, engineered and analyzed SIEM workflows, and delivered security briefings and recommendations to both technical teams and senior leadership. He also collaborated with Northwestern University on a threat intelligence project, presenting findings directly to REN-ISAC leadership and member institutions, and he aspires to strengthen American cyber resilience through a career in public sector cybersecurity.

He is a member of the NobleReach Scholars 2026 Cohort, and serves as an Information Security Engineer at Maryland’s Department of Labor.
