Manas Khatore

Maryland Department of IT, University of California, Berkeley Alum

Manas Khatore holds a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science and Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, which he earned in May 2025. He is a software engineer and AI policy advocate focused on the intersection of emerging technology and public governance; at Amazon, he builds data pipelines and accessible tools for corporate recruiters, and he is now looking to bring that technical experience to the public sector. As an organizer at the Berkeley AI Safety Initiative, he helped launch the first nationwide AI policy hackathon in February 2026, drawing over 300 participants and five university partners. He believes that safely deploying new technology requires close collaboration between engineers and policymakers.

He is a member of the NobleReach Scholars 2026 Cohort and serves as an AI Engineer at Maryland’s Department of Information Technology.
