Ethan Chiu earned a dual B.A. in History and M.P.P. in Global Affairs through Yale’s Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy. He is a national security researcher and policy analyst with hands-on experience in technology competition and labor governance, and he has conducted original fieldwork across ten countries on semiconductor labor supply chains. He has also held positions at the Defense Innovation Unit, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Council on Foreign Relations, Brookings, RAND, and the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. On campus, he founded the Yale Foreign Policy Initiative and led the Yale Alexander Hamilton Society, and he aspires to ensure U.S. technology and security policy protects and preserves democratic governance and labor rights.

He is a member of the NobleReach Scholars 2026 Cohort and serves as the Yale Program Manager at the Council on Foreign Relations.
